innovative projects which add value to the brand and to the fashion
industry.

Within this context, ABRYANZ created the “Abryanz style & Fashion Awards” in order to offer a new media platform for emerging talents in style and fashion.
The awards also seek to reward those individuals and fashion brands that are making a concerted effort to harness the power of fashion to engage and build communities.
From socialites, make-up artists to bloggers to photographers.
Ugandan designers and fashionistas are known for their love to express their creativity.
Each year the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards will celebrates their creativity and success.
This year, to recognise the roots to the ever growing globalisation of the fashion industry the Abryanz style and fashion awards has added a LIFETIME STYE ICON category to celebrate influential personalities making waves on the global fashion scene. .
Mission
Reflecting the tremendous growth of fashion as part of our everyday lives, ASFA’s mission is to honor fashion excellence in TV, Journalism, Modeling, and Web. The Style and fashion awards include annual awards in ten categories. Recipients are recognized for innovation, global transferability, impact and influence. This is the first time that the awards of this kind will be held in Uganda.
Nomination and Voting
Celebrities and socialites are able to nominate themselves for an award or be nominated, although they must approve the latter. To be eligible for nomination one must be Ugandan and recognized in the fashion industry.
After the cutoff date for nomination all entries are screened for eligibility and categories are determined based on the field of contestants. A "nomination academy" made up of recognised members of the Ugandan fashion scene then reduce each category to 4–5 finalists based on lifestyle and technical achievement.
The winners within each category are determined by a twofold voting system. The first is a percentage of the final score allocated to the nomination academy who individually vote for their preferred artist/group.
The second is a larger percentage allocated to the general public who vote via SMS for their favorite nominee after having access to their portfolio on the official website. All the votes go to an independent auditing firm who determine the final winner.
Ceremony
The pinnacle of the awards process is the gala night, in which winners are announced and receive their accolade. The contestants and audience, a crowd of thousands drawn from both influential media, political and cultural personalities and paying members of the general public, are also treated to a variety of acts including musical performances, comedy routines and acrobatics. The night itself can last for up to six hours and is broadcast across Africa by satellite television.
After the gala night a winner's concert/party is held open to the public.

An award recognising one designer who throughout their career has made an impact on the industry internationally.
MOST OUTSTANDING FEMALE MODEL
A female ugandan model who has contributed most to the international fashion scene in the past year.
MOST OUTSTANDING MALE MODEL
A male Ugandan model who has contributed most to the international fashion scene in the past year.
BEST DRESSED TV PERSONALITY
An accolade which recognizes individual that has excelled at keeping fashion trends on Ugandan TV over the past twelve months.
BEST MAKE-UP ARTIST
A ugandan stylist, make-up artist whose creativity has been a major inspiration and influence in fashion and beauty the past year.
LIFETIME STYLE ICON
An award recognizing one personality who throughout their career has made an impact on the fashion industry both domestic and internationally.
BEST FASHION/LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY
An innovative and creative photographer who is emerging as an influential force in Ugandan fashion.
BEST FASHION WRITER
An accolade, which recognizes a leading Ugandan fashion writer, journalist, blogger who has directed the shape of fashion in the past year both in Uganda and internationally.
